Urgent cares, clinics, doctor's offices, and hospitals all over the world have been changing aspects of their typical functioning to adapt to the Coronavirus. Doctors and nurses have played the biggest and most important role in this pandemic, and the spread of the virus would be a lot worse right now if it weren't for them.

One of our family friends' father is a doctor, and he himself has to quarantine and live full-time in doctors' dorms at the hospital to prevent the spread of germs to his house and his family. It has been an extremely hard time for that family because they are bored like the rest of the US that are quarantining themselves, but are also worried about their husband/father who cannot physically be with them.

During the pandemic we are currently in, CityMD is one of the many medical centers that are fighting the virus on the front lines. The company has had to be honest and upfront with their patients for the good of their patients' safety, and also the doctors. In one of their most recent updates, CityMD has announced, “Patients experiencing mild cold/flu symptoms who are seeking to rule out coronavirus for peace of mind cannot be tested at this time.”

This may seem inconvenient or like the clinic is turning away patients, but this truly is for the patients' own good. If a patient was experiencing those "mild cold/flu symptoms" which was not truly the Coronavirus, the patient could be potentially exposing themself to COVID-19 germs by physically going to the doctor to get checked out. Also, their reasoning behind this statement is completely valid: "the demand for testing will overwhelm our ability to care for the sickest, most vulnerable patients."

CityMD has to make these types of statements to weed out the typical hypochondriacs who think they have COVID-19 when they just have the common cold. But of course, CityMD is completely willing and wanting to help those who are in actual need of medical care and encourage those who are experiencing the specific COVID-19 symptoms to come get examined. The company has also been offering their medical services virtually through their app or website, which can easily solve the previously mentioned scenario by keeping people quarantined in their own homes while still receiving the medical knowledge they may need.

Along with their other virtual resources, CityMD created a large list of commonly asked questions regarding COVID-19 with their answers to reduce the amount of traffic within their online and in-person appointments. CityMD is a reliable system of medical support for their patients, and they are increasing their productivity by utilizing virtual resources as much as possible.
